CGU is responding to customer requests for support as quickly as possible and has called upon its national network of staff and suppliers to support customers impacted by Cyclone Yasi.
Any CGU customer who needs to make a claim should contact our 24-hour claims service line as soon as possible on 1800 252 461, or speak with their insurance adviser.
Having the following information to hand will help us lodge your claim as quickly as possible:
- Your policy number
- The contact name and phone number of the person holding the policy
- A loss description
- Details of the location where the loss occurred
- Details of any property damaged.
In preparation for Cyclone Yasi, CGU has commenced moving generators and tarpaulins into the impacted areas.
CGU assessors are also on standby to begin work in the impacted areas as soon as it is deemed safe to do so. We also have arranged with our building network to mobilise and undertake make-safe repairs.
We understand that this is a difficult time for all involved and our thoughts are with those customers, intermediaries and our staff who are being impacted by this event.
CGU offices
Our Townsville and Cairns offices are currently closed due to the cyclone, with Mackay and Proserpine on stand by to close if necessary. All calls to these offices will be forwarded to our Brisbane office.
Impact on our service of standard customer service requests
CGU continues to focus its efforts and resources to support customers who have been affected by the cyclone and the floods in Queensland, northern NSW and Victoria.
Please note that customers in other areas of the country may experience some delays in response to non-disaster related requests as our staff support those impacted by these events.
